OBIC’s Polyurea Products
OBIC’s polyurea products are manufactured in an ISO 9001:2015 certified facility, ensuring consistent quality and reliability. Each formulation is specifically designed to optimize performance for its intended application, whether in drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, or industrial environments. Below is an overview of our polyurea product line and their primary uses:
- OBIC 5000: Structural lining for water and wastewater rehabilitation, as well as industrial and manufacturing applications.
- OBIC 1000: Wastewater rehabilitation for manholes, industrial structures, water distribution systems, and transportation infrastructure.
- OBIC 1200: Rehabilitation of pipelines and culverts.
- OBIC 1100 PW: Potable water containment coating designed for industrial, manufacturing, and water distribution preventive maintenance and rehabilitation.
- OBIC 1100 Polyaspartic & OBIC 1151 Aliphatic: Preventive coatings and rehabilitation for manholes, industrial manufacturing, water distribution, and transportation systems.
Polyurethane Foam
Polyurethane foam is ideal for wastewater structure rehabilitation and industrial coatings. Polyurethane foam is utilized as middle lalyer (known as tOBIC Surfacer 1306 serves as the surfacing layer in the OBIC multi-layer liner system designed for wastewater structure rehabilitation. It is a spray-applied, two-component closed-cell polyurethane backing material that enhances the primary surface within the OBIC Armor application.
Typical applications include:
- Manhole rehabilitation, wet well lining, and pump station coatings
- Masonry stabilization for block and brick, including crack filling and surface enhancement
- Industrial and manufacturing environments
- Tank lining
- Geotechnical surface applications
Product Information:
OBIC Surfacer 1306 expands to fill cracks, joints, voids, and bug holes in the substrate, improving structural integrity and preventing leaks and infiltration. Backed by over 50 years of foam manufacturing expertise, this product was developed and rigorously tested by chemists and engineers to deliver exceptional performance as an integral component of the OBIC Armor multi-layer system.
OBIC Polyurethane Grout
OBIC polyurethane grout effectively stops even the most stubborn leaks. The OBIC range of injection grouts—including acrylic, polyurethane, hydrophilic, and hydrophobic formulations—is designed to halt groundwater infiltration before the installation of OBIC lining systems. Depending on the structure and type of infiltration, the appropriate grout is selected to ensure optimal results. Some grouts expand upon contact with water, while others create a durable seal to prevent infiltration, even during heavy rain events.
Inflow and infiltration issues
Inflow and infiltration problems must be effectively addressed, and OBIC provides a comprehensive range of polyurethane grout materials specifically designed to stop leaks in water and wastewater structures. Most manhole rehabilitation projects involve brick and concrete structures with cracks, deteriorated or missing gaskets, pipe penetrations, and other entry points for groundwater. OBIC products are engineered to prevent sewer system inflow and infiltration; however, they do not bond to active, running water. Therefore, installers must first halt any active groundwater infiltration before applying the OBIC system. Polyurethane chemical grout is the most commonly used material by OBIC installers for leak control.
Customized Solutions
Customized solutions are key to the success of water and wastewater structure rehabilitation projects. Selecting the right repair material to address specific leak conditions is critical for achieving lasting results. That’s why the OBIC product line offers both pumped and hand-injected polyurethane grouts, providing flexibility to meet diverse needs. All certified OBIC installers receive thorough training to apply the appropriate grouting systems—ensuring effective leak control even in the most challenging rehabilitation scenarios.
Hydrophilic Polyurethane Grout actively seeks out water, penetrating cracks and pores in concrete or masonry to form a strong bond with wet surfaces. It is ideal for stopping leaks through crack or joint injection.
Hydrophobic Grout repels water and cures independently of moisture presence. While not well-suited for crack injection, hydrophobic grouts excel at curtain grouting, sealing heavy leaks, compression sealing, void filling, and soil stabilization.
